Linda: The Most Popular Girl's Name in the Warren Area High School Class of 1968

Linda ranked in the top ten for 26 years -- from 1940 through 1965 -- and was #1 from 1947 to 1952.  (It hasn't been doing so well lately.)

My maternal grandfather, who was 54 at the time.

Photo included with the article "Springfield Teachers Prepare Booklet for the Next Campaign Against Tuberculosis", in the March 12, 1944, Springfield (Mass.) Sunday Union and Republican.

I found this not-too-badly-yellowed news clipping yesterday evening while looking through some long-neglected envelopes, boxes, and file folders. More than once I silently exclaimed, "So that's where I stashed this!"
