I manage to finish the budget draft even though I have to off-desk time. With Chris off and Sheila training 2 new pages, I end up spending a fair amount of time at the circ desk.

Monday evening continues to be uneventful.  I clean the kitchen and watch TV, actually staying in the bedroom to watch Northern Exposure.

The heat wave continues, so we let the boys sleep in our room.

July 20, 1991

There's no escaping the heat today.  While Barb mopes around the house, milking her flu symptoms for all they are worth, the nuclear family spends an afternoon at Governor Nelson State Park.  As uncomfortable as it is, I just can't bring myself to swim in Lake Mendota.  The lake bottom is slimy, and even in shallow water, impossible to see.  I think I'm going to take a shower as soon as we get home, but I end up puttering around the yard for a little bit.

Back home, we cook out -- barbecue chicken.  JoAnna and I talk about going out to see a movie, but our babysitter's sick.
