July 17, 1991

(Although gel caps were introduced in the late 1980s, we were still buying the liquid version at this time.)

I wake up feeling lousy:  extreme sore throat, dizziness, body aches.  There's no way I can go to work.  JoAnna calls in for me since all I want to do is stay in bed and sleep.  When I'm not sleeping or spacing out, I watch TV -- giving the remote-control a workout -- and read.  I start to feel a little better in the evening, my family providing a temporary tonic.  The Nyquil knocks me out at first, but after 11, it seems as though I do nothing but wait for sleep to happen.
