"The Beverly Hillbillies" Debuts on September 26, 1962

Broadcast on CBS.  Wednesday. 9:00 to 9:30 Eastern time.

Ran for 9 years.  The #1 rated show for the 1962-63 and 1963-64 television seasons.  In the top 20 every year except its final one.

I missed the first episode, but a lot of my friends were buzzing over it at school the next day.  I much preferred the show that preceded the Beverly Hillbillies on CBS's Wednesday schedule.



Even better was the 9:30 offering, but with a morning paper route, Mom made sure I was in bed by 9:30.  (I was never the easiest person to wake up back then.)
