June 4, 1992

For the first time since my return from vacation, I'm able to spend a full day at the library.  I walk away with not too much more than a tidier desk to show for it, although a big chunk of time is spent preparing the board report composing the minutes from Tuesday's PLAC meeting.  I pick up the boys and we stop at McDonald's as promised.  My supper is mostly a liquid one.  I nosh on a few McNuggets.  We play in the back yard before bath time.  Eddie goes to bed immediately after his bath, but Andy stays up with me to watch Nick at Nite.

I spend all morning and the very early part of the afternoon at a Dynix vendor demonstration.  Susan, the presenter, "appreciates" all questions, but I do not appreciate her rambling, out-of-focus style.  When I leave the Madison Public Library, I feel as though I have wasted four hours of my time.

I'm able to get some work done during the afternoon.  The board report and budget proposal draft have to be ready for mailing tomorrow.

While Barb and JoAnna and Eddie attend a Chuck Chvala fundraiser in Monona, I stay at home with a recalcitrant Andy -- although he's fine when I get home -- and start to pack for the Warren trip.

Not a movie that JoAnna and I cared to see.

My plan to be productive works to a point.  I finish the Middleton Times Tribune news column and start on the board report but don't get into anything meaty, like the long-range plan and collection development policy revisions.  The day zips by; for a Friday there's a large number of reference questions to tackle.

I pick up Andy and we stop at the "brown store" for soda.  I feed the boys, and then the three of us go to the park.

"Conundrum", the final episode of Dallas.

Not a show we watched at our house.

The plan is to work a half day, but I work through lunch and don't leave the library until 3.  I prepare the board report and update my tally of the invoices.  I fear that the book budget is being spent too quickly.  I also feel a need to tidy up my office.  The obsession with 1969 music leads me to where I'll find three tapes that will help me along with my recording project.  I grab a quick meal at Burger King before driving to Kids Play to pick up Andy.  JoAnna has a late meeting with Bill.
