Friday, January 3, 1992

Sheila, Maria, and I take care of business on a hectic Friday.  Nonetheless, I manage to get a fair amount of work done, most of them projects I started yesterday, like the board report, a revision to the appropriate behavior policy, the column for the newspaper, book reviewing.  An attempt to revive the VCR is a $20 losing gamble.  The apple juice did too much damage.

After work, I drive to the credit union, listening to one of my many recently recorded tapes of 70s music.  I also stop at Exclusive to look for a copy of the Phil Spector CD set (not in stock) and Pic-a-Book to buy some reading matter (Billboard, Esquire, and 2 newspapers).

Strange evening.  I watch Psycho, alone, and am surprised at how tame it is 32 years later.

With Sharon no longer on the staff, I now have Thursday evenings to contend with.  I take the morning off, half expecting that my leisure time will extend into the afternoon.  Eddie's been fussy at time, his nose is running -- signs of a possible ear infection, but neither JoAnna nor I take any action.

It's a busy day at the library.  During the late afternoon and early evening, I spend a lot of time moving from the information desk to circulation, and back and forth again.  I walk home through a thick fog.

Wednesday, January 1, 1992

No hangover, fortunately.  I did drink a lot of the bubbly last night.

It's a lowkey day.  Channel scanning during the late morning, I get hooked on a movie about a dad searching for his kidnapped baby.  JoAnna and Andy go to see Fieval Goes West during the afternoon.  Eddie's been too prone to fussy spells lately.  I do some taping and fix barbecued chicken wings.  By early evening, JoAnna's not feeling too well.  I give both boys a bath.  Eddie gets such a look of panic on his face when I rinse his hair.  I stretch out on the couch in the TV room while Andy is sitting at his desk and doze off once or twice.
